My Nightstand Overfloweth

What's on your nightstand?
I know y'all might be sick of pics of my bedroom. One more and I'll quit, I promise.

I saw this carnival last month but was waaay too late to enter. But this month, I was ready.
I keep 8-10 books on my nightstand. Hubba-bubba has tried several times to lessen this number or clear it altogether, but I stand my ground.
I love to be surrounded by books.
Several of these are some I'm "working on" all the time. Others come and go once I've finished the book. There are even a few that I've read that I loved so much that they stay nearby.
A little obsessive? Maybe. Probably. Ok, fine. Definitely.
I have to reach further to hit snooze because of my book hoarding.
Here's the list of my nightstand books.
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls--I'm reading this now, great book, borrowed from a good friend.
No Touch Monkey by Ayun Halliday--funny travel memoir that I pick up periodically, when I need an escape and a laugh.
No Nest for the Wicket by Donna Andrews--the title is what screamed "Buy me!!!" TBR
Jesus for President by Shane Claiborne & Chris Haw--I'm working on this one slowly, it's pretty heavy.
The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne--I have this one because of the previous book. TBR
The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James--great Austenite book. Loved it and keep it close.
A Continual Feast by Jan Karon--A collection of quotes and Father Tim's thoughts (from the beloved Mitford books). Very inspiring.
The Lynne Truss Treasury by Lynne Truss--the columns and 3 novels, very funny author.
An Irish Country Village by Patrick Taylor--have this for the cover art and because it's Irish. TBR
The Reason For God by Timothy Keller--TBR, but I am really looking forward to getting into this one.
The Organic God by Margaret Feinberg--about to start this, it is sort of assigned, but looking forward to it, nonetheless.
Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury--haven't started this library book for my book club.
So, that is my paltry list.
Pitiful, I know. I join the ranks of bibliophiles everywhere and stand proud (in my pjs) with my stacks and stacks of stuff to read.
"I cannot live without books." ~Thomas Jefferson
I feel ya, Tommy, I feel ya.
~Jen
ps..TBR is To Be Read (I learned that from the Librarything website.)

What a great list!! I can't wait to see how you like The Irresistible Revolution. I have not read it, but I was the sounding board while my hubby did and it truly rocked his world. Happy Reading!

I love the title "No Nest for the Wicket" - how cute!

If you are interested in more info about sources for review copies just send me an email and I will forward you the information that I have. I should probably do a blog post at some point because I've received this question often lately.

That's a great list of books. I'm sorry we haven't commented in awhile. I actually have tried four or five times but it never lets me
:( So, I have been visiting.
