Movie Quote Monday...On a Monday!

Abby Mallard: Tough morning?
Chicken Little: I had a run-in with my old nemesis.
Abby Mallard: Gum on the crosswalk?
Chicken Little: He won this round.

If I had to pick my Top Ten Disney movies, Chicken Little would definitely be up there. Actually I’m not sure I could pick only ten. (Hey that’s a good idea for a post, Jen, we can list our Top 10 animated, romance, comedy.) Back to Chicken Little, the above is the opening scene and one of my favs in the movie! But here's the quote I'm actually somewhat basing my post on today:

Chicken Little: I put on five ounces this year. I've really bulked up.

Our oldest had to go to the doctor the other week. He’s almost 14, he got on the scales and he weighed in at a humongo 90 pounds. He was so excited, ‘yay, I finally passed 90.’ I was also thinking, woo-hoo Josh is finally at 90. Then I had a flash back to my 8th grade year and my 8th grade weight, I was 5’2” and tipped the scales at 110 (oh my heart, I would give one of my kids back to weigh that again! I kid! Seriously! Well, there have been a few days that deal would be pretty tempting.)

So I weighed 20 more pounds at 14 than my little scrawny-tailed teenager. Ugh, do you know how sickening that is? And while I’m on the subject, I think something’s totally out of whack with the universe when I and my teenager both develop upper lip peach fuzz at the same time. What? No fair! Did my brain forget to tell my face that I’m 33? I shouldn’t have this and still dealing with acne! Mad, I say, the world's gone mad.

I mean my body sure has no problem knowing its age. My calves and thighs are pretty durn tired right now. My beloved trainer took me on an hour long trek this afternoon. Later this evening when I said to him that my legs hurt, he gave me a high five!?! Are you serious? Gotta love him, and just as an update so far there’s been NO weight loss but hubby says I look firmer..me-ow…
