Hijacking the Blog

Dear Blogging World,

Please excuse me while I post a note to my BFF via our blog. That’s right, I’m hijacking the witty, intelligent, life-changing conversations which normally appear here to just chat with Jen. Quit laughing or rolling your eyes. I think the phrase ‘life changing’ should be left open to interpretation.

Thank you for your patience.

Pam

Dear Jen,

I missed you last night at church. It was youth night and you weren’t in the sanctuary with me! However, I truly felt your loss most keenly when we were reading the opening verse.
(Just an aside to anyone else who may be reading this personal note that I’ve posted for the world. Our associate pastor did a fabulous job and had a wonderful message, I really did listen after I quit thinking about this verse.)

He asked us to open our bibles to Isaiah 55:2. Of course since I always forget to bring my bible to church (I know, shame, shame!), I grabbed a pew bible which just happened to be a KJV. Now here’s how the verse reads in NIV, which is what everybody else got to hear:

Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Amen! Preach it, brother! But here’s the gem that was in the KJV (just the last part):

and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul
delight itself in fatness

Fatness! Let your soul delight in it..hee hee..oh my, I just loved this. It may become my new theme verse. (And, yes, I do understand this verse is not talking about physical nutrition in any way shape or form. I promise I listened!)

Have a great week at camp! I’ll see you there next Sunday/Monday*!!

Pam

Dear Blogosphere,

I thought I would give you one more little note and explain my asterisk above. For some reason the powers that be at Church of God Youth Camp in Virginia think it will be a good idea to place both Jen and myself in the role of counselors for 10-12 little girls for a whole week.

We are looking forward to a full week spent in each other’s company, I just hope we don’t lose a kid or warp any of them for life with our BFF goofiness. Hopefully this will provide lots of blog material….

(And do you know it took me 5 attempts before spell check accepted my spelling of asterisk…why did I think there was a T in there?)

Happy Monday!!!!
