Things I Love Thursday

First of all please don't pass out because I'm actually posting two days in a row. I shouldn't be. I should be reading the chapter and two short stories and writing a comparative paragraph for my English class--but it's not due until midnight tonight, so I figure I've got time. I probably should also be doing laundry, cleaning, exercising...whatever...I'm telling you about my favorite things. Yes, please note the plural...I haven't participated in a TILT in FOREVER so I thought I should do several things to mark the occasion. Please consider this day marked, thank you.

The first thing I wanted to share is my new cloth napkins. A very, very sweet friend of mine--Barb--so very thoughtfully gave my family the gift of several different pieces of fabric especially for this purpose! My amazing mama (who is a seriously talented seamstress) snipped and stitched and in less than 10 minutes I was the proud owner of three different sets of cloth napkins. She gave us a great wintery print, a nice bright citrusy summer print, and for my girls the cutest fairy fabric! I LOVE using these napkins. They really hold up to spaghetti night and with my four kiddos that's no small feat. I just toss them in the laundry once or twice a week with my towels, it's so easy! (Please note after the blogger/image fiasco of yesterday, I decided to try and combine my pics today.)

The second thing I love is this little card game I picked up at the Target check out lane last week. Of course this week I found out there was a coupon and I could have gotten it for like $.24...seriously...twenty-four pennies! But even though we've only played one night, Scrabble Slam was worth the six bucks I paid for it. We're always on the lookout for games that:
(1) can be played with more than 4 players (there's 6 of us!)
(2) quick and easy -- we've got a 5 year old that wants to play..actually I think that reason qualifies for the 14, 12, & 9 as well
(3) last but not least I look for a game where I can dominate. That's right. I like to win. And out of the 5 games we played, I took 3 of them. Pretty sweet, and yes, I just used 'pretty sweet' to describe victory over my adolescent children...oh and their daddy too! Which is also why we very rarely play Monopoly--I seriously stink at Monopoly.

And the last thing I'm loving today...are you still reading this? Why?....are my new slippers from the clearance rack at Target! Yay me! I love them and considering my current slippers (not the lovely ones in the blog header..they're just for matching, not very practical for bus stop runs, etc) are ones the eldest J outgrew, so I think it was about time for some new ones!

Aren't they cute? Please ignore both the clashing colors of the lovely brown and pink with the bright cream and red of the PJs (another Target buy--$9.99 people for two piece set!) and the condition of my legs. It's winter people, I do not shave. And if you're really sadistic enough to enlarge that pic so you can see my leg hair...well, don't say I didn't warn you.

Please scoot on over to The Diaper Diaries and find out what everybody else is loving today!

Pam

Santa put Scrabble Slam in my hubby's stocking. We've yet to play it. I'm going to have to pull it out!

I just bought all of those card games with the coupons. They were GREAT deals! I was saving them for gifts, but you're making me want to get them out and play!

I definitely suggest playing SLAM :). It's a loud game which also is something my children love and it's a good spelling/quick thinking game :)
