I'm Back!

Mr. Internet Installer Man made it to the house today around 5:15. I signed up for an 8-1 appointment time and when I called in the afternoon and was told between 3-5, well fine.
Then 5 rolls around and there's no work van in my driveway. I was borderline ... I don't know. I was talking myself down.
"Patience is a virtue, blah blah blah, as long as it is here TODAY, everyone will get out of this alive."

You know, normal stuff.
I have never been so happy to hear the beep beep of a utility van backing up right outside my window.

Then there were the issues of drilling through the house and all that, did I give him permission? Tear the house down, just get me online before I take this place apart with a scrub brush.
So, with the house drilled and wires coming through floor, about 1 1/2 hours later, magic.

Sigh.

Happy Sigh.

He even got the ancient desktop online, but the thing is so geriatric it literally needs a walker to get around the interweb. Maybe figuratively?
Well, whatever, you get the point. It's slooooow.
But my laptop is fast. And we all get to live another day.

I'm still chained to the desk. They don't offer wireless routers unless you want the $200 package. No thanks to that.
So, here I have been all evening. I cleaned up my email.
MY WORD!! Go away for a week or two and see what happens to your inbox. I got through about half of my reader. Only 156 more posts to skim through. That's about all I've done.

Pam is not available to IM tonight, so I had to entertain myself elsewhere. (The just miss has become a theme of our relationship lately, boo & hiss.)

Believe it or not, I have not been on Facebook since the house went online. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I just thought I should make this announcement. I'm back. I should be able to post more.

Of course, camp is coming up in less than 2 weeks and I'll be working all 4 of them again this year. We'll see how that works out. I will absolutely take my laptop to camp with me. I don't think they allow you at camp without one anymore. So, just to be safe...

Anywho, folks.
You were missed.
Greatly.
We should totally catch up!

Hahaha! Love the "use the walker around the interwebs" bit... funny stuff! I understand the desperate need to get your home wired... I've been living an internet-less apartment for the last six months, and I fantasize about the day I move and can justify the hook-up fees. ;P
